About
A complete rebuild of formengine.com for Advantage Integrated Solutions, a Denver software company whose product — Form Engine — is the patented portal and forms platform for Quickbase. The old site was a Squarespace 7.1 brochure: two nav items, a sitemap of six URLs, a laptop-and-phone mockup on an orange wave, and a robots.txt that blocked AI crawlers. It said almost nothing about a product with a granted patent, a twenty-four-year Quickbase partnership, and four hours of the founder explaining it on camera.
The strategy is the client's own: six self-service portals — supplier, contractor, employee, dealer/partner, customer, QR asset. That framing is the site that got built. Around it went the material the old site had been sitting on: 38 channel videos transcribed and mined into a 14-lesson written academy, 53 answered questions, an honest three-way comparison table that leaves cells empty where Form Engine loses, and a timeline of the market consolidation that made the company's independence the pitch.
The design is "civic hardware, running live" — the register of institutions that keep records, with the machinery visibly on. Archivo over Public Sans over IBM Plex Mono, and a voice rule that decides the face: whenever the site talks about what actually lands in Quickbase, it speaks mono. There is no border radius anywhere on the site; a verify script fails the build if one appears. The whole thing was built uncommissioned — on spec, unasked for — and it is standing at formengine.pjeide.com waiting for the client to take it.
